My interest in creative writing began at an early age when I first read books like The Lord of the Rings, The Hound of the Baskerville, and Dune. The worlds that these authors created captured my imagination. I was in awe of their ability to create magic with just twenty-six letters. Inspired by these authors, I began to write my own stories, stapling sheets of paper together to create comic books full of magic, mystery, and adventure. As I got older, I began to write poetry and songs. I filled notebooks, wrote on the backs of napkins and paper placemats, left my thoughts tattooed on every scrap of paper I could find. Over the years that followed, I tried several times to write my own novel, but every time found myself stymied by feelings of inadequacy and fear. It wasn’t until covid that I found myself at home, with an overabundance of time and a drive to be creative once more, that I was able to put the proverbial pen to paper and complete my first novel Enclosure. The experience lit a fire in my gut, renewing my passion for weaving words and telling tales. I continue to write, working on a sequel to Enclosure and a new tale set in a dystopian utopia, centuries in the future.
